The Legacy Initiative

The first question a beginner may ask is how in the world did you get involved with the sport of horse racing at this level? The answer is pretty straight forward, I grew up with it. My father was the inventor of the Pro Handicapper Wheel in the late 1950's. The Wheel as it was called, is an innovative slide rule that for the first time quantified a horse's performance by assigning a "Number" to it. It was very simple in that it evaluated only a handful of factors to determine an outcome. In its time it was very very effective. You will hear me speak alot about the "Number". Today racing is a morass of information with very little instruction. Tons of computer generated stuff, background noise, and blah, blah, blah. It is sensory overload that in my opinion offers a pretty significant barrier to entry for the novice. To the gamer, puzzle enthusiast,or mathemetitian, this should be the ultimate game and challenge. My goal which I am calling the Legacy Intivative is to provide the most basic level of instruction for a person making their first trip to the races and progress with a logical sequence of instruction. Racing is and will always be in my opinion, "The Greatest Game"
